When you bring Mark Dawson to speak you get a speaker unlike most “college speakers” or high school speaker. Mark is not a career academic or a student turned speaker like many of the “experts” and “speakers” students and educators have experienced. He is very real and his broad base of life, business and athletic experiences add to his keen ability to relate to people of all ages and all walks of life. Mark has an ability to capture the attention and respect from audiences like few other “college speakers” can.  He is a proven leader and “influencer” with an extensive and diverse background. Whether speaking to groups that are male, female, coed, or student athletes, Marks powerful, humorous, and clean message dealing with sometimes delicate issues is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression.      »learn more about mark                »why i do this

Below are examples of some of Mark's programs. However Mark has no "canned" presentations. His superb talent for customizing programs to meet client and organizational needs and preferences has become his recognized trademark. He will even work with you to create a one of a kind presentation built around a theme or message you want to convey or by combining several of his topics.  In most programs he openly and honestly addresses such issues as Consent, Communication, Body language and mixed signals, Respect, Personal responsibility, Sex under the influence, Date rape drugs, The dating race (“game”), Sexual assault, Teen Dating Violence, How to help survivors, Bystander intervention, and much more.  Through role-playing, humor, and audience interaction as well as sharing his own powerful stories Mark takes you on a rollercoaster ride of laughter and serious messages all leading to answers and tools that can be applied in ones life immediately.

ALL PROGRAMS ARE CUSTOMIZED AND ADJUSTED TO  BE AGE AND TOPIC APPROPRIATE FOR AUDIENCE

Hookin' Up and Gett'n Some is an entertaining, fun and inspiring program that leaves the audience with a whole new way of looking at and approaching dating, healthy relationships, sexual assault and consent. This is not your typical program on sexual assault awareness and prevention or your typical speaker.    Mark does not see sexual assault as a “women’s” issue or a man against woman issue. His approach is NOT to finger point, blame or tell an audience what NOT to do as so many programs do, especially to male audiences.  Mark’s approach is positive and refreshing. He will have the audience laughing one minute then hanging on every word the next as he shares personal stories about dating someone who was the victim of date rape drugs and being in a relationship with a rape survivor.   Mark will show people how they can have more fun dating, be more confident and empowered, ask for consent, have healthier relationships, prevent sexual assault, offer support for survivors and provide specific information about how to help themselves, a friend, girlfriend or sister who has been assaulted..

In  Hookin' Up and Gett'n Some Mark openly and honestly addresses issues of:

▪Communication
▪Consent
▪Body language and mixed signals
▪Respect
▪Personal responsibility
▪Boundaries
▪Intimacy
▪Sex under the influence
▪Date rape drugs
▪The dating race (“game”)
▪Sexual assault
▪How to help survivors
▪Bystander intervention
▪Teen dating violence
▪and much more.

Mark empowers students with the knowledge, tools and desire to date safer, help keep women in there lives safe and make their campus a safer place while also gaining skills to practice healthier dating behaviors, how to ask first and the difference it can make, increased awareness, responsibility and communication in their own lives while discovering new and fun approaches to dating and intimacy.

This program is perfect for any type of student programming and can be customized to meet your specific needs.
